বিশ্বজুড়ে মহামারীতে রূপ নেয়া করোনাভাইরাসের থাবা পড়েছে সুদূর ওশেনিয়া সাগরের দেশ অস্ট্রেলিয়ায়।

দেশটির ক্রিকেটাঙ্গন করোনাজ্বরে কাঁপছে। সেখানে খেলতে গিয়ে করোনার ছোবল থেকে রেহাই পাননি নিউজিল্যান্ডের ফাস্ট বোলার লকি ফার্গুসন।

স্থানীয় গণমাধ্যম জানিয়েছে, অস্ট্রেলিয়ার বিপক্ষে সিরিজের প্রথম ওয়ানডে চলাকালে লকি ফার্গুসনের শরীরে করোনা উপসর্গ দেখা দেয়। খেলা শেষে বিষয়টি জানালে মোটেই অবহেলা করেনি নিউজিল্যান্ড ক্রিকেট বোর্ড। তাকে পরীক্ষার জন্য চিকিৎসকের কাছে পাঠিয়েছেন তারা। চিকিৎসকরা ফার্গুসনকে ২৪ ঘণ্টা আইসোলেশনে থাকতে নির্দেশ দিয়েছেন।

ফার্গুসন করোনা আক্রান্ত কিনা সে প্রশ্নে দলে আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়েছে। পেসার লকি ফার্গুসনের মধ্যে করোনাভাইরাসের লক্ষণ প্রকাশ পাওয়ায় পুরো সিরিজই বাতিল হয়েছে।

অবশ্য সিরিজের প্রথম ম্যাচেই করোনাভাইরাস আতঙ্ক বিরাজ করছিল। সেই ম্যাচটিতে গ্যালারি দর্শকশূন্য ছিল। ম্যাচে খেলোয়াড়দেরই সীমানা থেকে বল কুড়িয়ে আনতে দেখা গেছে।

এদিকে শুক্রবার গভীর রাতে ফার্গুসনের শারীরিক পরিস্থিতির বিষয়ে টুইট করেছে ক্রিকেট নিউজিল্যান্ড।

টুইটে বলা হয়, গলায় সংক্রমণের জন্য ২৪ ঘণ্টার জন্য হোটেলের ঘরেই লকি ফার্গুসনকে আইসোলেশনে রাখা হয়েছিল। শনিবার দুপুরে চিকিৎসকরা জানিয়েছেন, রোববার দেশে ফিরে যেতে পারবেন

 The country's cricket team is trembling with awe.  New Zealand's fast bowler Lucky Ferguson was not exempted from playing Coroner's squad while playing there.

 Local media said that during the first ODI of the series against Australia, Lucky Ferguson had a cornea infection.  The New Zealand Cricket Board did not neglect to report the matter after the game.  They sent him to the doctor for examination.  Doctors have ordered Ferguson to remain in isolation for 24 hours.

 The tweet said Lucky Ferguson was kept in isolation in the hotel room for 24 hours for neck infections.  Doctors said Saturday afternoon that he could return home on Sunday
