করোনাভাইরাস নিয়ে তৈরি হওয়া পরিস্থিতির জেরে ১৫ এপ্রিল পর্যন্ত স্থগিত রয়েছে আইপিএল। এখন যা অবস্থা, তাতে এপ্রিলেও আদৌ আইপিএল হবে কি না, তা পরিষ্কার নয়। ধোঁয়াশা রয়েছে বিদেশি ক্রিকেটারদের অংশগ্রহণ নিয়েও। যদি তড়িঘড়ি করে আইপিএল আয়োজন করাও হয়, তা হলেও ম্যাচের সংখ্যা কমাতে হবে অনেক। হয়তো দুটো গ্রæপে ভাগ করে দিতে হবে আট দলকে।
বোর্ড স‚ত্রের খবর, এমনভাবে ম্যাচের সংখ্যা কমিয়ে আইপিএল আয়োজন করতে চাইছে না কেউই। বরং পুরো ৬০ ম্যাচই খেলানোর সম্ভাবনা খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে। আর তা এখন সম্ভব না হলে পরেও আইপিএল হতে পারে বলে মনে করা হচ্ছে। যদি ভারতে আইপিএল করা না যায়, তা হলে বিদেশেও আইপিএল হতে পারে ভাবনা রয়েছে। যদি সমস্ত বিদেশিকে পাওয়া না-ও যায়, তা হলেও প‚র্ণাঙ্গ আইপিএল আয়োজনের কথাই ভাবছে বোর্ড।
ফিউচার ট্যুরস পোগ্রাম বা এফটিপি অনুসারে আইপিএলের সময় বের করা যেতে পারে একমাত্র জুলাই-সেপ্টেম্বরেই। এই সময়ে ইংল্যান্ড ও পাকিস্তান ছাড়া আর কোনও বড় দল খেলায় ব্যস্ত থাকছে না। আর পাকিস্তানের কোনও ক্রিকেটার এমনিতেও আইপিএলে নেই। সেপ্টেম্বরে অবশ্য এশিয়া কাপ রয়েছে। আর জুন-জুলাইয়ে সংক্ষিপ্ত ওয়ানডে ও টি-টোয়েন্টি সিরিজ খেলতে শ্রীলঙ্কা যাওয়ার কথা রয়েছে ভারতের। বিসিসিআই এখন দেখছে, কী ভাবে এই স‚চিতে সামান্য পরিবর্তন করে আইপিএলের জায়গা বের করা যায়। ২০০৯ সালে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় আইপিএল হয়েছিল মাত্র ৩৭ দিনে। যদি তত দিন বের করা যায়, তবে ভারতেই হতে পারে আইপিএল। আবার দেশের বাইরেও কিছু ম্যাচ হতে পারে আইপিএলের। তবে তার জন্য করোনাভাইরাসের প্রভাব কী অবস্থায় থাকছে, তা দেখতে হবে।
