এ বছরের কোপা আমেরিকাও আর হচ্ছে না। করোনাভাইরাসের কারণে তাই ২০২০ সালে ফুটবলের সবচেয়ে বড় দুইটি আসরই এবার পিছিয়ে গেল। এর কিছুক্ষণ আজ (মঙ্গলবার) আগে ইউরো-২০২০ পিছিয়ে যাওয়ার খবর নিশ্চিত করেছে উয়েফা। কিছুক্ষণের ব্যবধানে এসেছে দুই মহাদেশীয় টুর্নামেন্ট পিছিয়ে যাওয়ার খবর। এ বছরের জুন এর ১২ থেকে জুলাইয়ের ১২ তারিখ পর্যন্ত আর্জেন্টিনা ও কলম্বিয়াতে অনুষ্ঠিত হওয়ার কথা ছিল এবারের কোপা।
তবে প্রাণঘাতী করোনাভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভাবে আজ নিজেদের ওয়েবসাইটে আসরটি এক বছর পিছিয়ে নেওয়ার খবরটি নিশ্চিত করে মহাদেশটির সর্বোচ্চ ফুটবল সংস্থা দক্ষিণ আমেরিকান ফুটবল কনফেডারেশন (কনমেবল)।
